Judith,So just type the freedom scientific URL into your address bar yourself, sameas I do. I must have mistype something. There is work going on in myapartment with electrical tools and Jaws is turned up to compensate and it's as loud as a jet plane here and I probably mistyped something. This is not a big technical problem. Go to Freedom Scientific! That's all there is to it. I was just trying to make it more convenient. Hope that is clear. Thanks youvery much.----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith Bron" <jbron@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 11:47 AMSubject: Re: What Would you like to be Available in Future Versions of JAWS?Unfortunately, the link below cannot be accessed. The roster of these voices is called RealSpeak Solo. You can learn all about this by visiting http:///www.freedomscientific.om and then clicking on Jaws central, then finding the item about what's new in Jaws 10 and a link there to a page all about the RealSpeak Solo voice, including a long list of individual voices in many languages that you can download and install and then switch back and forth among while you're working, including switching back to your Eloquence voice, too. There are a number of languages represented, but I don't recall whether I saw Hebrew listed among them last time I was at that page. Hope this help, Joel----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith Bron" <jbron@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 10:00 AM Subject: Re: What Would you like to be Available in Future Versions of JAWS? Ben, Instead of announcing the foreign letter, in this case, "Shin", what if they read the entire sentence in the language it was written in without announcing each letter? For example, there is a web site, "Aishe.com". Jaws reads the foreign word "Aishe" as it is written in English, but what if it read the same Hebrew word using Hebrew characters without announcing each letter? These same problems arise with languages like Japanese, Chinese and Arabic. Judith----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben J. I don't know how this is done, but Windoweyes 7 speaks the name of the unicode character as it sees it, pretty much no matter the writing system. For example, for a Hebrew letter sheen, it would say, "Hebrew letter shin". If Jaws were to even implement that? Oh? Baybeh! Which one did you use, and was it perfectly accessible with JAWS 9.0? George B. recently posted on the list that he uses Quicken 2009, but he didn't give us any details on how JAWS friendly it is. FS hasn't supported Quicken for several versions now, and as far as I can recall, they never supported Turbo Tax. It's nice to know that folks are using these programs, but additional details about ease of use would be helpful. Inquiring minds want to know!
