Re: What Would you like to be Available in Future Versions of JAWS?

Ben, Instead of announcing the foreign letter, in this case, "Shin", what if they read the entire sentence in the language it was written in without announcing each letter? For example, there is a web site, "Aishe.com". Jaws reads the foreign word "Aishe" as it is written in English, but what if it read the same Hebrew word using Hebrew characters without announcing each letter? These same problems arise with languages like Japanese, Chinese and Arabic. Judith ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben J. Bloomgren" <ben.j.bloomgren@xxxxxxxxx>

As some already may know, I'm very big on languages. I don't know how this is done, but Windoweyes 7 speaks the name of the unicode character as it sees it, pretty much no matter the writing system. For example, for a Hebrew letter sheen, it would say, "Hebrew letter shin". If Jaws were to even implement that? Oh? Baybeh!

Nancy,
I know there are 2 versions of Turbo Tax, one that is installed on a computer and one that is online. Which one did you use, and was it perfectly accessible with JAWS 9.0?

George B. recently posted on the list that he uses Quicken 2009, but he didn't give us any details on how JAWS friendly it is. FS hasn't supported Quicken for several versions now, and as far as I can recall, they never supported Turbo Tax. It's nice to know that folks are using these programs, but additional details about ease of use would be helpful. Inquiring minds want to know!

I actually used Turbo tax to do my taxes last year. I'm using Jaws 9.
