Appologies for the wrong information.

Just out of interest, I assume you are running Vista without a swap file. I've 
done it with 2GB and a 1GB ready boost flash drive and it works nicely.

I doubt that very much.  I've done a lot of research on this and it's simply 
not true.  You will only see part of the 4th gig of memory due to hardware 
mapping out memory in this range for things like video and so on.

  This is in fact true.  All 32 bit operating systems will handle up to 3 gb of 
ram.  This is a limitation of the 32 bit implementation.  The 64 bit operating 
systems do not have this issue.
