Yeah, I won't upgrade to Vista right now (if
Freedom Scientfific ever release JAWS version
that is compatible with .net 3.0 and can run
under Vista, that's when I'll upgrade mine to
Vista). At this stage, the best option is to
wait for Windows XP Service Pack 3. You can
continue use XP until 2012 (that's what
Microsoft said).

Trust me Bruce, at the moment, Vista is
fairly bugged. And, the 3d
effects may be what the sighted community
wants, but I still don't
see a need to upgrade right away, more so if
you can't see said
visual effects. All it is is basicly XP
service pack 3 made pretty.
If you don't need to upgrade, then it's not
practical to do so. And
judging by what I've read, programs that are
designed to work with
Vista will still work with XP, so you're not
losing much. The only
significant changes are really being made
behind the scenes, and your
average computer user won't really care about
them anyway.

That's alright, Microsoft dropped the ball
when it comes to
Vista anyway.
Personally, anyone who wants to go out and
buy it on the day
it's released
should wait 6 months anyway. At least until
the first service pack comes
out. Of course, the only reason I say that
now is because I end up
receiving most of the tech support calls for
Vista. At least
where Dell's
concerned.

I thought Eric Dammery promised Vista support
on launch day when 8.0 was
released? Did I misunderstand FS here.
Looked out on the website and
didn't find any mention at all. I guess that
is why FS refused to go on ACB
radio main menu tonight with Jeff bishop
because they have no product for
vista. Congrats to the other readers that
got it right and support Vista
today and not whenever they feel like it.
