         Hi,

Thanks, this works great on one of my documents. I think I have the hang of
it now.
In another document I am having problems. I can hide some rows, but cannot
unhide them. In another document I can hide and unhide the rows with the
technique you told me about with no problem. It is only on this one
document that seems to have this issue.

Is there some setting that will allow me to hide rows, but not allow me to
unhide them?

Under the cells setting there is something called locked. in one document
this is checked and in the other it is unchecked. I set this option the
same for both documents , but no luck still allows me to hide, but not unhide.

I have to admit I am a novice at Excel , so could be doing something wrong.

Thanks for your help.

Bill
