I have just joined this list and would like to find help with a very vexing problem. I have used JAWS for about three years. We recently upgraded to Windows XP and installed JAWS 5.0. We use Outlook Express for email. I have no problem reading email messages. However, when I compose a message and try to edit it, here is what happens. If I read my message straight through without stopping, everything is fine. But I can't read my message by line, word or character in order to edit out mistakes. When I do this, Jaws will leave out letters, read wrong letters and keep repeating the same letter over and over until I down arrow. This despite the fact that the message is fine on the screen. When I backspace over a letter, I don't hear the letter being deleted, just the word space. This does not happen with a word document, only in Outlook Express and only in the message line, not the subject line or the to line. I have checked all of the relevant Windows XP settings. s. I have also removed and re-installed JAWS without solving the problem. Is this an Outlook Express issue? Any suggestions?
