Hi Nancy,
When on the contact name, press the application key (the one to the left of
the right control key (depending on keyboard) down arrow 3 times and you
will find the actions menu, open it and smack the send message key.
Task done You will have to then close the contact window after sending
message. Also, in a open message you can hit the application key and find
other actions in there.
