I got the below about a month ago and it did help my friend. Bill White was the original person who knew the solution. John I also use Total Recorder, and also cannot turn off recording of the JAWS voice when in "What You Hear" mode. What he needs to do is switch to "Software Mode". In this mode, he can open the options menu, go to the "Drivers" tab, press the "Exclusions" button, press the Browse" button, and exclude the JAWS application from there as excluded software. Thank you. The issue is with total recorder recording the jaws voice when he records something like an audio stream off the internet. It doesn't allow you to turn off the what you hear selection so it doesn't catch the jaws voice. He upgraded to Jaws 12 and as a result, had to upgrade his version of total recorder. Now everything he records includes the jaws voice. If anyone has some tips or guidance, I can let him know what to do. Thanks in advance, John __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 6082 (20110429) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill White To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, April 30, 2011 9:10 AM Subject: Re: Total Recorder Software Issue I just realized that your friend may need to record a stream through the jacks on the sound card. In that case, your friend needs to set the settings to "record through sound board" and only include the inputs they need for recording, such as Auxiliary, or Line-in. Thank you. Is there any way to use Total Recorder with JFW in Windows 7? In XP, Total Recorder records whatever you want without recording Jaws. But in Windows 7, I can't make a recording without also recording Jaws. If there's no way to use Total Recorder, is there another program I can use?
