But, if you go into your default sound scheme, in sounds and Audio Devices, in Control panel, you can assign "none" as the sound for the default beep. Be aware, however, that this will elimination the sounding of the ding whenever Windows want to issue the default beep sound, not just when you press the arrow keys at the top and bottom of a list view.

Oh, and toggling off the ding with the ins-V dialogue doesn't seem to work, at all, in Wordpad.

I haven't found any way to turn it off or on, in Configuration Manager. The only way I know to control it is from the ins-V dialogue. This works fine, for me, in My Computer/Windows Explorer, and the setting remains between sessions. But, on the desktop, I can turn off the ding, and it goes away. But, as soon as I go into another program, exit the program, and return to the desktop, the damned ding is back.

Hello,
could anybody please remind me how to turn off top and bottom of screen indication?
That ding drives me crazy.
Thanks as usual for any help.
Max.
