Hi Kathy
To install JAWS 6.0 from the cd, do the following:
1. stick your JAWS program cd into your drive.
2. If you hear your drive spin up and then you hear a recorded message
asking you to please make sure all screen readers and magnification
programs are shut down, you can press enter to begin the instalation.
If you don't hear that, go to your start menu and then hit r for the run
dialogue. then type, d followed by a colon, followed by a back slash
followed by the word setup, and press enter. You should then hear the
recorded message and can continue with the install.
You will then hear eloquence talk you through the instalation. If you have
any questions as to what is happening, press insert plus f1 and you will
get context sensitive help and then can make a decision what to do. This is
a very straight forward proceedure and you should hve no problems.
You will probably be asked to reboot your computer so please do that. When
JAWS comes up you can then activate, since you downloaded the quella
version which will expire in March. Yes you do need this version because
the version on the CD does not expire.
Then follow the very simple instructions on your screen to activate and you
will be all set.
