Hi
I have tried the latest thunderbird and latest jaws 12 but I cannot
get jaws to read a message on opening it, this is enough for me to
stick with Eudora. has anyone achieved automatic reading yet?

You didn't mention which version of JAWS you are using. Did you
know that there are third party JAWS Scripts available for Thunderbird?
