RE: "The Shield Deluxe" & JAWS- Accessibility?

Dear Cristobal,

Thanks a lot for that info. I'm using BitDefender which has similar
issues as far as having to use the JAWS cursor a lot. It also seems
like most security program interfaces have that multi--column text
presentation which makes it rather hard to even figure out which text
goes where while the JAWS cursor is reading across the entire line. I'd
love to find a security suite with a simpler interface to recommend to
my students.

I’m running the shield and its corresponding firewall on my xp lap top.
Performance is better than anything else I’ve used, but it’s not
entirely accessible. You have to play with the cursers a lot and the
firewall you can’t really navigate with jfw. That being said, I am
satisfied with both products and even though the firewall isn’t exactly
screen reader friendly, it doesn’t interfere with my day to day usage of
my pc.

Subject: "The Shield Deluxe" & JAWS- Accessibility?

Dear List-

Has anyone tried "The Shield Deluxe" with JFW? It seems to get very
high marks and is supposed to have a very friendly user interface which
does not require a lot of technical knowledge to manage. I'm looking
for a complete security suite for my computer students. Thanks.

Cher
