Hello, There are a number of requirements for using Terminal Server: * You must be using either ILM or Dongle JAWS, Quella will not work. * JAWS must be loaded on the Client and the Server. * JAWS must be authorized for Remote Access on the client machine (not necessarily the server) * remote Access components must be installed. Firstly, purchase a Remote Access Authorization from Freedom Scientific. Secondly, go to Installation Maintenance from the Tools submenu of = JAWS60. Choose Modify, and check the item in the Tree View (Remote access). Thirdly, Install JAWS 6.0 on the central server (do not authorize if you don't want to) Now, when Freedom Scientific inform you that Remote Access Authorization = is ready, Go to the JAWSWindow (JAWSKey+J), Help Menu (Alt+H) and choose = Update Authorization... Go through the activation process again, and this = will allow Remote access. You may continue to use your original = Authorization Number, as all that has been updated is a flag stored in California. I hope this solves your problem, Matthew -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On = Behalf Of Chandni Sent: 15 January 2005 11:09 To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Terminal server Hi all, at work I need to access databases which are loaded on the central = server.=20 PCs from different offices are connected to it via a program called = Terminal Server. As I understand it, my computer becomes a simple terminal when I = enter date there. The problem is that JAWS doesn't read anything on the=20 screen, not even the username and password prompt! Has anyone had = experience with this? Is there a way to configure JAWS? The thing tech support=20 suggested is that the software be loaded on my office PC locally. This = way=20 it will certainly work, but then they would have to instal every update = to=20 the software on my PC directly, along with the central server. Thanks so much in advance for any input.
