Hmm, this sounds pretty much like some of the "netbooks".
While they do have a screen I think they would run quite well with the lid
closed.

It would be pretty awesome if one could have a computer that was just a
featureless box case with WiFi, Bluetooth and adapter plug-ins the size of a
laptop or smaller.
That way one could use Bluetooth headphones and a Bluetooth keyboard
anywhere with the laptop safely in the backpack or something...
Also hardware would be so much cheaper and one wouldn't have to worry about
screens breaking, delicate frames or anything like that falling apart and or
costing a lot of money.
