Sonic Record Now or CD Writing Wizard?

Hi,

How do I go about burning CDS from either one of these programs?

I have albums on a hard drive that I want to put on CD?
I don't know if you can choose the bit rate at which you want files to be burned, in such programs or not! 
I'm using Windows XP on a Toshiba laptop, with the latest version of JFW!
