fn+f5 does not do this on my toshiba. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dean Martineau" <dean92@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2004 1:18 PM Subject: Re: Some way to blank laptop display One peripherally useful thing I have gotten from this discussion is that some laptops allow you to blank the display with a keystroke, and some do not. My dependable little ancient Ibm Thinkpad 600x does. It would be useful for purchasers to know Which other ones do. While this does not relate to how to use JAWS on a laptop, the question of which laptop works well with Jaws always comes up, and for many of us Jaws users, the ability to blank a screen and thereby enhance battery life is a useful selling point. Also, the fn keystroke used to accomplish this task will differ from brand to brand. For Toshiba, I believe it is fn+f5, for my Ibm it is fn+f7.
