Hi,

No, I understood we weren't talking about quick keys. these are Word
functions, I believe.
Thanks.

First of all you don't need to turn quick keys on through the verbosity
dialogue. You can just press insert+z. M doesn't work for spelling
errors. It's the keystroke that will move you in internet explorer
between frames. In word pressing this keystroke while quick keys is
on, will just say: not available.

Subject: Skipping through misspelled words (was Jaws 7.1, etc.)

I haven't yet used any of the single letter navigation commands for Word
in
Jaws 7. But I may try them out one of these days. Meantime, I've read
the
Freedom Scientific bulletin referred to below, and noted the addition of

single-letter key commands for skipping through misspellings and even
grammar errors.

Now, I don't use Word with any of its editorial or corrective functions
turned on as I write. My approach is to use Spell Check deliberately
when I
want to check an unfamiliar word, or review a paragraph, a portion of a
document, or the entire document. And I don't use the grammar function
at
all.

that's just to clarify what my customary technique is. So, the way I
use
spell check in Word, would this be irrelevant to this key command for
skipping through misspelled words? I can't imagine exactly how this
would
work. Like, if you've written a draft of a business letter, and then
you
turn on these key commands with Insert V and press control home to get
to
the top of the document, and then press M in the updated version of
Jaws,
will Jaws somehow skip through the document looking for spelling errors
and
launch the spell checker dialogue every time it comes upon one, so as to

give you a way to correct the mistake? That's what it sounds like to
me,
although that would mean that Jaws had its own system for discovering
misspellings. A functionality I never heard about.

Or does this suppose you keep the spell check thing running all the time

while you're writing and editing a document? I hope my question is
clear.

thanks.

Subject: Re: JAWS 7.1 Preview

According to the newsletter, in Word with JAWS 7.1, after selecting
quick keys with Insert + Z, pressing the M key will let the user skim
through misspelt words. Currently the M key is used to move through
frames. This keystroke is common to Internet Explorer and Word.

I feel that FS should assign some other keystroke to skim through
misspelt words.

Does Anybody know where we can send such suggestions to FS?

Sameer
