Setting up laptops with Narrator?

Hi all,

I've attempted to set up several laptops using Narrator, but always run into
the same problem.  At one point, I am asked to choose the country from a
combo box, but Narrator won't read the choices in this combo box.  I need to
get sighted assistance at this point.  Has anyone found a way around this?
