nope, it's not a jaws issue. It has to do with the way things are set up on the network. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dale Leavens" <dleavens@xxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 11:56 PM Subject: Setting up home network with Jaws Good evening, I don't know if this is just ignorance on my part or if I am not seeing something with Jaws. I have recently acquired a notebook computer and a wireless router to an ADSL modem, my desktop is direct wired, my laptop wirelessly connected, my desktop running Windows 98 can see my notebook running XP Pro and my notebook can see but not access the Windows 98 desktop. The message is that I don't have permission and should contact the network administrator and the path cannot be found. So, back to the Windows 98 machine, I cannot see where I give that permission. In the Network settings I can see file and printer sharing enabled and have specified which machine but don't see where or how or why I can specify a user for that access. I know some of you have done this stuff before and may be able to help. I think this is a Jaws access issue but I realize it is also a Windows "less than obvious" issue which may have more to do with my limited expertise than Jaws. Help off list may therefore be more appropriate. Thanks.
