You can use different voices for different apps. Actually, you can use
different synth, if you wish; just use the synthesizer menu in
Configuration Manager to create custom configurations. Before you
commit to anything, you can always use the hot key combination to switch
on the fly, and se what works.

If you use Real Speak, you can change its speed unilaterally, either
globally or in individual app. It's a little harder to get some changes
to stick than Eric implies in his instructions, but it can be done, even
if you have to go through the voice menu, but that's probably a subject
for another time.

This app has gotten so flexible that you're limited by little more than
your desire and your imagination--a long way from the basic
transportation of JAWS 1.X.

Neat, glad it worked. Of course, you can use different voices or
voice
sets with different apps, if you're so inclined.

Yes. Use the main JFW menu, under Voices. You must do this when
Outlook is running. If you have several apps running, go directly
from
Outlook to JAWS, with Numpad Ins-J (substitute your JAWS key of
choice,
if you have mapped a different one--I seem to recall you're the girl
with the new notebook).

On the first screen, choose "Global," if you want all voices (the
cursors, keyboard, and messages) to be affected. Then choose
Outlook,
when given the choice of Outlook or Default.

Hi all,
Is there any way that I can tell jaws to always speak faster when in
outlook
express? I know how to change rate on the fly with page up and down,
but
I'd like to always have elliquence at a faster rate when I'm in
outlook
express. CAn I do this and how?
