There was a mention earlier of using Shift+F8 to "freeze" the list and allow multiple selections, then tabbing away to execute some other element on the web. Give that a try. I know how to select noncontiguous items in a list, but this does not, I repeat does not work on this web page. Pressing control down arrow has no effect. The virtual cursor does not move down in the list. I do not want to copy or cut the items, I just need to highlight them before submitting the form. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Farfar Carlson Sent: Sunday, December 19, 2010 10:07 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Selecting multiple items in alist box on a web page No, what he said was to use the Ctrl key and the spacebar, once you've opened the list with Enter. However you need to keep the Ctrl key pressed and if you want to skip an item in the list you press down arrow while continually keeping the Ctrl key pressed. So if you wanted to select items 1, 3, and 5 out of a total list you would: Enter arrow to 1 1 is already selected Ctrl+arrow to 3 Ctrl+ space Arrow to 5 Ctrl +space Copy, Cut, or tab, if you're in a web page. As I said in my original message, the site seems to assume that the person is going to be using amouse. I have tried to use the jaws cursor, route it to the desired item, and then press ctrl and the jaws left mouse click key. It has no effect. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Sunday, December 19, 2010 09:22 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Selecting multiple items in alist box on a web page Phil, I haven't done this myself, which is strange considering how much time I spend on the Net, but I believe the solution is to hold down the control key and to press the spacebar against each item you want to select. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Philip Sent: Sunday, December 19, 2010 9:11 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Selecting multiple items in alist box on a web page Hi. I am trying to select multiple items in a list on a web page. The directions on the web page say, use your control key. Obviously, this is for people that use a mouse. I can open the list using enter. It acts like a combo box, but there is supposed to be a way to select more than one item. At the moment, I can only select one item by using the down arrow. Is there any way to select more than one item? I have tried to use the jaws cursor and move to each item and press the left mouse button on the keyboard, but this doesn't work. I have tried ctrl down arrow, but this does nothing too. I hope this makes sense, and that someone has an idea how to get jaws to select multiple items.
