Off the top of my head I'd say:
*don't use standby.
*I assume your using a screen reader, so if so, turn your screen brightness
right down.
* Adjust your power options to turn off hard drive, display etc after a
short time
* If your using Vista, turn off all the arrow glass features and set all
graphics options to basic.
* Don't leave cd's/dvd's in your drive as windows will read them
unnecessarily.
*Using headphones instead of the loud speaker may make a slight difference.
* Don't leave unnecessary USB devices plugged in
* If your not bothered about performance you can probably adjust the speed
of your processor in the bios menu which will save a little power, but what
you save might be lost in extra time of having hte pc on to do things.

Does anyone have tips for saving battery power on a laptop? I have a
Fujitsu I just picked up recently from the Notebook Shop, a local place in
Los Angeles.
