Shannon, I also have another idea. Once in the configuration manager, go to synthesizer options then individually change the voice. Is there a way for jaws to start with one of the sappy voices? when I bring up my jaws 8 it comes up in eloquence, then I have to change it manually to 
Samantha. I have changed it in config manager but it still comes up
eloquence when I start jaws 8. Any suggestions?
