Katrina,
At the back of your computer by the speaker port, there is a slot for network cables (known as RJ45 connector port). You'll need to disconnect the cable from the port (JAWS should say, "Local Area Network: a network cable is unplugged."), effectively disconnecting from the To ternet. You should have downloaded the removal tool and the setup file for the alternative anti-virus software before disconnecting the cable. When you are done and installed the alternative program, reconnect the network cable back to the network port to reconnect to the Internet (JAWS should say, "Local Area Network: speed 100 MBPS connected.").
Cheers,
Joseph

Really? I need to disconnect from the
Internet? I've never done that
before. Hmmm. I use DSL and although I can
probably figure it out, I'm
actually not sure how I would do that.

You must completely remove, through normal
procedures, you're current
anti-virus program before installing another.
If you don't like the new
one, you can always remove it and put another
or your original anti-virus
back. You should Dissconnect your computer
from the internet then
deactivate your current anti-virus program
and finally install and activate
the new anti-virus program.

Subject: Replacing Norton With Another
Program

My edition of Norton is about to expire.
I'm considering AVG or maybe
another anti-virus program. Is there
anything special I need to do
before installing and/or trying out a
different anti-virus program.
Do I need a special tool to remove all
traces of Norton? Actually,
can I install the new program before
uninstalling Norton? I would
deactivate Norton, but I'm wondering if it
would be easier to keep
Norton on my system in the event that I
don't like the new program and
choose to return to Norton.
