Hi Liz and all, I personally think most of the bugs in Vista have been ironed out in Service Pack 1.

Hi Gary: Well my friend I am sort of behind in my Jaws only have up to version 7 at the moment although I am currently uising version 5 on my computer as I ran across websited where version 7 would not access them.Don't ask me why so for varied applications, I do have both on the computer. I am using Jaws for windows XP Pro even though I currently am using XP homeas my operating system. I went this route as I thought I possibly might upgrade to the XP Pro and now may as well just wait for vista to get the bugs worked out. Anyhow, I did not pay the extra $200 I just found about that option today but may do so and check it out to see if that is a moreworkable solution. Braille displays in this instance are useful but I wouldalso like to have the speech. Someone on another list suggested I write ascript to try and overcome this issue however, writing scripts I'm not thatgood at yet. Take care and it is always good to learn about new things. Hi Liz, Which version of JAWS are you using, and is it Pro or Standard? Also, did you have to pay the extra $200 to enable Remote Access? If JAWS doesn't speak during the process I'd be out of luck since I don't have a Braille display. I began using this one as remote assistance with windows messenger and the one within windows itself were not working for me dut to my firewall I think. With crossloop you do not necessarily need to disable your firewall as sometimes I forgot to enable it again (smile) When you open the screen you need to do some linking with your jaws to pc/pc to jaws cursorsbut if that doesn't bother you too much it is actually fairly accessible. You check the boxes depending on whether you want to simply view the computer or control it. Let';s see what else did you ask yes it is free although they always like you to pay money like almost everything. What you may find is that the first few times of use, your connection may berelatively short before a disconnect is encountered. Depending on who isdoing the sharing and/or accessing, the person requesting remote access will have to provide a number if I remember rightly 12 ditigs or so to the other person so the codes are the same. Hope this helps. Let me know if I don't make sense. Liz, The site wasn't hard to find. I just put Crossloop in Google, and I thinkit was at the top of the search results. I read about the remote controlof another system, the sharing of screens and sending files. Are you allowing someone to look at your screen or control your computer?I can see how this would work, but can you control someone else's system using JAWS? Also, what is the cost for this service? Type the word remote into the edit field, and then read the topics found by your search. If you decide you really need remote access, be prepared to purchase JAWS Pro and then pay $200 extra for the privilege.
