Reading with Adobe pdf?

Hi, I actually have 2 questions here.  I am using jaws 6.0 and have adobe 
5.1 and 6 here.  The problem is when I go to the menus bar, I don't get the 
listing of the options.  For example, When I press alt f or e or d ect, all 
I get below are letters not anything else.  I don't have this problem with 
any other program.  The adobe can be the only open program and it with be 
the  same.
The other aquestion is, I have trouble opening pdf files with open-book.  I 
can open word files, rtf files, but not adobe.  I used to but I don't know 
if something changed here or what.  I am using open-book 7.2.  Hope I 
explained this okay.  Andy.
