I haven't used those that much, but I seem to recall it's pretty much
the same. I presume you want to actually enter the footnote area, not
just read footnotes as they occur. I can't remember for certain now,
but I'm almost positive you click on the actual footnote marker to enter
the footnote area, look around, edit, do whatever you need to do.
Exiting is done as I said earlier--click anywhere in the main document
area, and you're out.

Incidentally, when I said that you had the choice of reading them at the
bottom of the page or at the end of the document, I was, of course,
referring to the way you set them up in Word. Both methods are widely
used.

HI Ted

So I guess you are saying use my Jaws cursor to find the footnote area
and
click and open the footnote and then Jaws will read it. Is it the same
process for Headers and footers?

Thanks

Try clicking anywhere inside the footnote area. When you need to return
to your text, just click anywhere in the body. You should also be able
to read them as they occur at either the bottom of the page or the end
of the document, your preference.

Hi this is my first post. Does anybody know how to read footnotes in
Microsoft Word 2003, using Jaws 5.1 (or up)

Hi George,

Well, for all my resentful remarks about my own difficulties with this
version, I'm happy to know that you, and probably many others, are
enjoying
a generally pleasant relationship with Jaws 8. But without a lot more
sophistication about what could be awry with my system or its settings,
which so far as I know, and having had excellent functionality with Jaws
6
and 7, are perfectly Jaws friendly, I have no idea why it's been so bad
for
me.

In any case, glad you're cruising along nicely.

Hi All:
With all of the negative comments about JAWS8, just thought I would say
I
have very few problems with JAWS8 and XP, this configuration has been
quite
stable for me. I don't question that some of you are having trouble.
