I too do not use that keystroke much and so always have to give a second
thought. I had a student who forgot a lot of the keystrokes but that was one
she always remembered.

  Hi Jason,

You mean it's just the Jaws Say All command with the addition of the shift
key? That's pretty easy to remember. So why can't I remember it (also
kicking myself for that one)? I suppose it's because I don't feel the need
to use it very often to confirm what it is I've selected, so that when I do
have a moment of uncertainty about that, I can't remember the keystroke.
but I just practiced it on a few words in the last sentence, and it works
great, and Jaws even says it's telling you what's selected, so you don't
have to just guess that it's working right. Although I'll bet that's because
my Jaws verbosity isn't set to Advanced, which probably silences that
message. But I appreciate the message, myself. So thanks a lot.

  Answer

  Hello All:

Someone asked me how you can have JAWS read what has been selected. For
example, if you select some text in a document, he wanted to know how
you can have JAWS read back that text to you so you know it has been
selected. I know there's a keystroke to do this, but I've been all over
the JAWS help menus and can't find it. I know I'll kick myself when I
get the answer, but can someone tell me what that keystroke is for
  reading highlighted or selected text?

  Thanks,
