As I said, on the Avast website it says that you need to use their utility in 
safe mode.

  You would not use Safe Mode to remove Avast.

  Instead, you would use Control Panel then you would go into Add/Remove 
Programs.

    I was wondering if there was an accessible way of removing avast that 
wouldn't involve Windows in safe mode? I'm considering installing it, but then 
I'm not sure whether I'd be able to actually get it off my system.
