Marissa,I down loaded and installed the new version of AVG free earlier today. Went without a hitch. As I recall there were 3 steps, download the program, select repair and after the installation was complete, restart the computer.

JAWS didn't seem to want to co-operate at all! When I tabbed it wouldn't do anything so there didn't seem to be any options to allow one to do anything about it and the only thing it would read on the line was the bit about the deadline approaching. I tried closing it but although it said close it didn't and then after I did some other things to find out what it was it went into this part of the website I mentioned. Why does one have to pay to get the new version, even if we had the free one before! I think that's a bit cheeky and out of order when companies do this sort of thing more and more. That way they could lose customers because people will find one that is still free from another company that's as good or better. From Marissa.----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 03, 2006 2:16 AM Subject: Re: Query about AVG Free Edition v. 7.5 with JawsSorry, Marissa,I don't know what that could have been about. I have to guess that if you'd been quick on the draw and managed to press control b to read the dialogue,or switch to the Jaws cursor to read it as this was happening, you'd haveseen the entire message and not be mystified. But I can see it all happenedtoo fast. Maybe someone else is familiar with this sort of event?----- Original Message ----- From: "marissa.hendry" <marissa.hendry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2006 5:54 PM Subject: Query about AVG Free Edition v. 7.5 with JawsMy AVG today came up with a message saying something about a deadline nearlybeing up and then it went into their control centre but didn't goautomatically to any update, even though it usually does them automatically. The upgrades and things I did find, it suggested they were all ones one hasto buy. Does anyone know more about this? Since downloading and installing the latest version of AVG Free Edition not long ago, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that it's more Jaws friendly than any previous version hasbeen. I am using Jaws v. 7.0. When I launch AVG's control center from mytask tray to perform any task or make any setting I've concerned myself with so far, it actually behaves nearly as well as a major application like Wordor Outlook Express. I can tab around from control to control crisply and accurately and everything else. I should knock wood or something, becausemaybe I'll try to adjust some setting one of these days and find myself wrestling with the Jaws cursor again and trying to figure it out with a lot of frustration. But so far, it's looking better than ever, which is a very welcome relief.-- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
