Jim, you can run Jaws from a CD without installing it to the computer on
which you will be testing. find out if this is acceptable and if so the
directions from Debbie Scales are below. Marie

"portable Jaws". That you can put jaws on a CD and have jaws run
automatically from the CD on a machine that

didn't have Jaws. Here are those instructions. Of course change 450 to

your version of Jaws, such as Jaws50.

Yes put the Jaws450 folder on the CD.

Then put a file called autorun.inf and in that file have these two lines

exactly.

[autorun]

open=Jaws450\jfw.exe

so when you browse the cd, you have two things jaws450 which is a folder,

then your autorun file.

then push the cd in and jaws will start.

It will run in demo mode unless you put an auth key on the machine or in the

floppy drive of the machine.

Have jaws exactly how you want it configured before you copy the folder,

because you can't make any configuration changes on the CD.

Debbie

Hi Listers, I have just received approval from Prometric special needs
department in regards to my blindness, I will be testing for Microsoft
office users specialist certification in Excel 2002.I have been told I will
have a reader for the exam and extra time for completion of the exam. Now
here is what perplexes me they will not allow me to install Jaws on the test
computer. Have any of you tested with Prometric under these conditions,
maybe you can give me a clue as to how this is possible. immense thanks
upfront!
