Is there a setting in AVG which allows you to temporarily disable AVG? If so, Use that setting. That's what I had to do when removing NOD32 on my system. Even though it may appear that the program is not running, a security program may block its own uninstall unless you can disable it in its own settings. I don't think the MSconfig will help in this situation.

Thank you.

Subject: Problems Removing AVG 2011

Hello All:

I was in a JAWS Tandem session with a client, attempting to help her remove AVG 2011. She's running JAWS 11 on a Windows Vista laptop. We simply cannot get AVG 2011 removed from her system. I went into control panel, then Programs and Features, arrowed down to the AVG 2011 icon and hit alt-f to go to the file menu, then, u for uninstall. The User Account Control came up, and we hit continue on it. The program did not uninstall.

I went into msconfig and disabled the program at startup, then, after re-starting the computer, tried uninstalling AVG 2011 again. It still won't uninstall.

Anyone have any ideas?
