Make sure you stress setup.exe not all .exe files lol and you might have
something there.

OK, here's another idea. Now, keep in mind that I'm sleep deprived, so
maybe
others should chime in on this before you do it. OK, First, clear out your
recycle bin so that there's nothing in it. Now, do a search on all of those
.exe files. Select them all and delete them. They will go to the recycle
bin.
Now, just leave them there by themselves.
Now, try to run the Jaws disc again. If it doesn't work, you can go back to
the
recycle bin, do a select all, then hit restore and all of the .exe files
will be
put back where they belong. Sounds too easy, and your computer may give you
fits about deleting some of the .exe files. Although, I've deleted many a
.exe
file with no problem. .exe is short for executable. Meaning, to launch the
installation of a program. So, I really can't see how removing those, even
temporarily could hurt.
As I said, I'm going on very little sleep. So, anyone want to jump in on
this
idea? Jack

I think it's time to call FS. Here's what I tried, with no success.
I chose not to go through my computer renaming all of the setup.exe files,
since there are a bunch of them. 64 of them after I did a disk cleanup.
I took a different route; I created a temporary folder on my hard drive, and
copied the entire installation disk into that folder. I then renamed
setup.exe to jawssetup.exe. When I ran it, I got the same result.
Installing modem driver.
So, whatever bogus file is being triggered is probably being called by the
Jaws setup file, rather than being a file called setup.exe.

I'm truly stumped.
I'll report the solution here once FS helps me find one.
