Re: PodCast player and recorder with JFW?

hi
subscribing is just like a newspaper or a magazine, this is free stuff here folks! and who doesn't like free stuff?
iPodder is the best Podcast downloading program out there. As previously explained, just for clarification, iPodder is what automatically downloads the shows for you. You find the addresses of each show you want via the podcasting directories out there like
http://www.podcastalley.com
or my personal favorite
http://www.podcastpickle.com
and copy and paste the address of the podcast into iPodder's add a feed dialogue. You open iPodder and press control plus n to do this. Then, iPodder will show you the current number of episodes there are to download. By default, the first one at the top of the list will be marked for download, and the others will be known as skipped. you can change the status of skipped to download by pressing the space bar on that episode in the list. then press the f5 key and the download will start. In 99.9% of all the shows out there, these are regular, standard mp3 files. nothing special about these folks, i'm pretty sure everyone is familiar with them now. I say 99%, because some podcasts are also in Apple's bookmarkable AAC format, which is only playable on the apple iPod players. But in most cases it's mp3, which Winamp will play and you can transfer the files to your portable device and take them with you wherever you go.
There you go, podcasting made easy, and it's accessible with JAWS as well. You may have to do a bit of cursor routing to see certain parts of the program, but once you do, you're fine.

Hi, know, getting podcasts are free. What you do is copy the rss feed to your clipboard, then paste it into your podcast catching client.

Hi, you don't need to use a podcasting program to listen to podcast. You can use any portable mp3 player, or you can play the podcast in winamp. You need a podcasting client to retrieve the podcasts. I use ipodder. go to www.ipodder.org or www.jeffbishop.net. You have to subscribe to whatever feed you want to receive podcasts from. When you subscribe you will automatically get new podcasts of whatever show you subscribe to automatically. There is one tricky thing with ipodder with jaws. You can control how often ipodder checks for new podcasts. This is done in the preferences. You have to use the jaws cursor to find the combo box that shows how often like every hour or every 30 minutes. I set mine to check every thirty minutes.

Subject: PodCast player and recorder with JFW?

Hello Group
I would like to listen to some PodCast programs like those on acb.org that is JFW friendly?
I would like to get a PodCast program that reads and possibly writes and works with most PodCast formats if that is possible and it still needs to be accessible with JFW!
Which PodCast program are you using that is friendly with JFW?
If you are using a PodCast program is there anything special we should know?
Where can I get the PodCast program you suggest?
Thanks for your help!
Dick
I am using Windows XP Home version, JFW 6.1, Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, 512 MEG Ram, 55 Gig of free hard drive space, on Cable.
