Hi G.B.,

You haven't read my message carefully. I know all that you're saying here.
Please read my message again. What I have been asking is, on which item of
the Configuration Manager Settings menu will I find this particular setting.

Thank you very much for responding.

You need to go do it in config manager if you wish to have it off all the
time. If you use the jaws key plus v for the verbosity dialog it will only
turn it off for that session of internet explorer then when you go out of it
and come back you have to do it again.

Jerry,
thanks, but I'm still using IE 6. The other thing that occurs to me is that,

almost without exception, if an adjustment is offered on that Insert V
context verbosity menu, it's usually represented by a setting you can make
within Configuration Manager. Maybe I'm wrong to assume that about this
particular item, but that's what I was thinking.

In I.E. 7, go to tools, internet options, control tab to the content
page, tab down to the feed settttings buttton and press it. Then you can
turn off the sound and I am unsure about the feed reading view option.
Perhaps this is a step in the right direction.

I want the RSS announcements to stop on all Web pages I visit. I know
you
can toggle them not to speak, site by site, using the Insert V menu. But
where in configuration Manager can you set Jaws that way permanently and
globally? I've just been looking through HTML options, on all the tabs,
but
no luck. Same with the Verbosity settings menu item. where should I have
looked?
