Hi,
I am not sure where to get it, I found it via winmx or emule or some p2p
program.. So I have no idea of cost either I am afraid. And to be really
honest about it I don't use jaws either, I use window eyes, well mostly
except for the very odd occasion that window eyes wont read the rite
stuff and I may try jaws.
I think i originally did a search in googs for something like , best
disk defragmenter for windows xp pro.
There is allot to choose from, but just doing a little reading on some
of the internet forums or magazine reviews about the product, online
magazine articles that is, you will find something that is good. I am
about to go on the hunt to find some other defraggger utilities to see
if any others do a better job that perfect disk. I used a defragger in
windows 98 that was spectacular to say the least but wont work on a ntfs
formatted disk, it was called voptme. Most of the defraggers i have used
work just fine with screen readers, in fact i just get a trial of some
software I wanna use and install it to see if I can use it, If I have
any hassles with the program is when I start posting a few enquiries on
the lists. So don't be to scared to have a try at stuff..
hope all of this helps you out.

Cheers,James

Hi James,
Is perfect disk part of windows? Or otherwise, where do I get it?

Thanks,
TerriLynne

I have just started using perfect disk for xp as my disk defragger, over
nortons speedisk, I was using speedisk instead of using the standard
windows defragger. After all of my computer friends and myself complaing
that no matter how many times you run speedisk back to back, it never
seems to be any better really. So I have been using perfect disk now for
only about 1 week, but one thing is for sure i notice faster disk access
all the way around. Like I said I haven't really experimented with it
yet, but believe that it will also do a disk defrag on the system reboot
so it can control the entire disk and not have windows butting in during
defragging. hth p.s. i don't run scan disk or nortons replacement for
scandisk very often at all, only if the disk wont defrag and its telling
me there is an error of some sort..

Cheers,James
