Sort of along these lines... I'm using JAWS 6.0. I purchased the full price version of office 2003 recently. I have two desktop pcs. The first one has office xp on it. How would any of your proceed if you wanted to put 2003 on to replace = the one with xp. The 2003 version seems to have less glitches in use with JAWS than the = xp version, at least on my machine. I know ms wants you to buy a full version for each machine. But I am licensed on both versions as it is. Should I completely uninstall the xp version before installing the 2003 version? And if so, where are all the data files located so that I can grab them = and put them somewhere before I do the new install of the 2003 version. I would like to have the emails, the folders, the favorties, the address = book and stuff like that. Thanks. Rik By the way, I have been on the list a week now and have been impressed = with the helpfulness demonstrated by the list. =20 -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On = Behalf Of Bill Sent: Saturday, March 26, 2005 6:02 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Office 2003 or Office XP and JAWS well as far as buying the student version goes, not illegal if your a=20 student, but more importanly most of the cheaper versions people quote = that=20 are cheap are o e m versions, which also do not have support from = microsoft. so a student version for say 5 bucks versus a o e m version for 130 and=20 neither has support from micro soft, thats a no brainer, the student=20 version wins hands down. both install and register in the same fashion now. it used to be the student version left off the copy protection found on = the=20 o e m version. this is no longer the case, now their the same. for those not familiar o e m is what is supposed to be only sold with a = new=20 p c, so hence no tech support. they also have a more expensive version that does come with tech = support. cost way more. bill -- To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
