Express, or Internet Explorer.
Problem:
When you launch Outlook, Outlook Express, or Internet Explorer, you may hear
a message regarding an unknown function being called - "IsMagicRunning."
This
affects earlier JAWS 8.0 Updates, which were available in the first quarter
of 2007.
Solution:
List of 3 items
1. Navigate to and select the Start Menu, Programs, JAWS 8.0, Explore JAWS,
Explore My Settings.
2. From within your User Settings folder, find and delete the following two
files:
default.jss
default.jsb
3. After you delete these files, exit and re-launch JAWS. This resolves the
problem with the unknown script call.

There was an error in my earlier post.
Uncheck Outlook Express and the problem should go away.
If it does, then you know for sure that it is your Outlook Express
personal settings.

Rick I checked the manage application settings in jaws and they were
checked. I still cannot use ctrl f, ctrl r, and ctrl n functions. I still
get unknown script call to message. Do you know of any other way to fix

Try this:
From the Jaws main window, from the options menu select, manage
application settings.
When the dialogue opens, see if Outlook Express is in the list, if it
is, then check it, and hit enter.
Now return to Outlook Express and try the same commands again.
More than likely, there is a script file in the user folder of Jaws8 for
Outlook Express that is causing the problem.

I have been getting a unknown script error message when I try to use the
ctrl key to forward, reply, and new message keyboard commands. does
anyone have this same problem and know how to fix the problem. I am
running jaws 8 with the newest update, windows xp, and OE 6.0. Thank you
