Hi Golden,
Yes, while in the e-backup program, start a new backup as you would for Outlook Express.
Deselect everything except the custom directory option, and then
browse to the My Documents folder, and choose it as your custom directory.
Then just proceed as you normally would.
Never too many questions, glad to help out!

thanks again Ricque. i have installed the program and have in fact tested with my favourites and addressbook. true enough, it's working fine, both its backup and restore utility.
is there a way to backup and restore my documents too?
sorry for asking too many questions Ricque
thanks again for sharing.

Hi Golden,
No, you're not missing anything,
the message rules along with the blocked senders list, and connection settings, are included in the identity backup. The favorites, and addressbook are actually not part of Outlook Express. If you notice, there is an option for backing up a custom directory as well. The software developer just included these additional features as a convenience. As long as you backup your identities, you'll have everything you need to restore your Outlook Express settings. I never used the custom directory option, only tried it to see if it worked. smile

thanks Ricque. i'll do just that afterwards. but before that i have another question. i don't see any reference to message rules in the backup list. identity, favourites and addressbook are shown in the list.
am i missing anything?
thanks again.

Hi Golden,
Go to the screen-readers page, and click the link for scripts, and there is a heading for e-backup.

Hi Morey,
I believe that info is stuck in the registry.
However, you can download e-backup which will back up everything in Outlook Express.
You can find it on the e-mail page at:

Hello all.
Using Jaws8 and W/XP Home. I have a small program for backing up my OE files. (Outlook Express Quick Backup). With any OE backup program do they back up the Message rules? If not, how does a person go about backing up the message rules?
Thanks,
Morey
