Hi all, this is MMM with the Say All problems in 8. Just letting everyone
know the results of this challenge. First of all I posted several
requests on the list and got a few good ideas for fixes; such as running
repair and so on but finally broke down and spent the $20 bucks on FS
phone tech call at .4 cents a minute. 15 of those minutes were in call
waiting but this is what I found.

First of all there are certainly different levels of techs! Some are not
so helpful and some just cannot handle anyone?s frustration on trying to
get something to work right, especially after they paid for it.

Ok, got Dennis, he was very good and we tried just about everything and
got the Say All keys working and in case anyone might have this problem
we had to change the reading settings in the configuration menu from
read sentence to read line with no pauses. Now if I go into 8 with Word
and change that setting in the Jaws verbosity menu to do anything else,
guess what, say all wont? work!

We also had to cleanse all my Word defaults for Jaws and start over. When
I did a merge that brought over some changes that altered my new keys
settings. But now, guess what?
We discovered that Jaws has a bug that won?t let the line be spoken when
you hit a down page and the cursor lands on a line with text. This would
work and then it wouldn't , The tech reported this to the developers and
they will look at it in their upgrade.
He was able to duplicate the very same problem on his com there.
I learned all kinds of little things and am now able to at least make a
few changes on my own.
I also got the new upgrade in the mail and loaded in the sappi voices and
wow, now that is a nice feature.

I plan to order the TextAloud and does anyone know if those two voices
will also be able to be used by Jaws?

Thanks everyone, take care
MMM
