Andy, no it won't. You can't just do that. You have to first extract the archive into the root folder of your MP3 player, then run a utility on your computer to install the necessary Rockbox components. Go to www.rockbox.org and download the appropriate Rockbox manual for your player for instructions. Hope that helps.

I assume this would be similar to the procedure necessary for the Sansa E200, if so: 



Run the sansapatcher file available on the rockbox.org site.
Copy the .rockbox folder to the Sansa, copy the English.voice file from the rockbox site to the lang folder in the rockbox folder. Run the sansapatcher file available on the rockbox.org site. 



You then need to run the voicebox+ program.

The Rockbox utility softwhere is on my computer. I need to get it on to the MP3 player. In Rockbox utility it is not recognizing my device. The MP3 player I have is the Sansa C250. It is made to work with Rockbox.
