Hi Rick;
How do you turn the layered mode on/off, or what needs to be turned on to
get those "boink" sounds when keys are pressed? All help will be greatly

Well, as I understood it here before on this list, someone spoke of this way
to turn speech off in JAWS 11.
You press JAWS key plus the spacebar. And then the letter S.
On my machine, when I do this, JAWS says "Speech Off." And then there is no
speech.
Then when I repeat the key commands, JAWS key plus spacebar, followed by the
letter S, JAWS says "Speech On." And howdy do, there is Mr. JAWS,
speaking again.
I also have the little boink, boink, sounds when I press the JAWS key and
the spacebar, which I guess is the indication that the mode is on. I think
they call it the layered mode?
