I'm curious to understand something better in this thread. Are you sure it's actually your whole system crashing, with every open application hanging? Or do you mean only that Jaws goes silent? thanks, daniel ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Marshall" <geom4@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2005 12:47 PM Subject: Re: Multiple crashes with XP Hi Chris: No I am running the normal group of programs and rarely have several windows open at one time. But yes I am having lots of trouble with this XP operating system crashing or it could be JAWS 6.0. Thanks, George R. It depends on what programs you are running. For example, I'm running Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8.0 and for Dragon NaturallySpeaking 512 of memory is pretty close to the minimum amount of memory. It will do better with one gig of memory. On the other hand, if you're just running word and a few other applications. I would probably stay with 512 of memory. This comes down to, if you're not having trouble with your machine and your machines doing what you would like to do with it well. Why go through the trouble of taking it to the shop and getting more memory installed or installing it yourself. I hope this helps. Do you think it would more stable if I added another 512, I haven't ran your cleanup suggestions yet but will do so in the next day or so. Thanks, George R. I am getting lots of crashes in various programs. I upgraded from 98(SE). I wonder if JAWS 6.0 is at fault? If anyone could give me any advice I would appreciate it. One more does anyone know the name of the log that shows what caused the crash and where it is located? Thanks, George R.
