I normally have automatic lists (bullets and numbering) turned off when I
compose and edit text. Then, when I'm ready, I select what I want and apply
the bullets or numbers.

However, it seemed that you had a document that already had them applied,
and you were trying to copy things that had the numbers to another document.
Is that what you meant? I forgot, and have not had my coffee yet. Grin.
