Hi Rick, I wonder what proportion of Freedom Scientific's private beta testers are running Vista? I voluntarily resigned from their beta team quite sometime back because I felt I couldn't spend enough time on it to really do it justice. FS needs frequent, quality feedback from its beta testers in order to know exactly what needs to be fixed. I feel FS folks ought to seriously evaluate their private beta program, making sure to have the highest possible quality members and, perhaps, give people a bit more of an incentive to participate. So I'm forced to retract my statement on my Blog post stating that the Virtual Buffer problem won't be fixed until Jaws 9 releases later this year. He stated that they fixed the specific bug that is causing the problem. Also that no one has been reporting the virtual buffer issue to tech support anymore. So essentially they don't have the problem there and they can't duplicate my reported issue about it happening to me. Eric stated that and I have to agree with that the problem doesn't occur often anymore. So if anyone can duplicate the problem and report it to FS support then they will look into it further. But since no one is reporting problems to tech support the problem is resolved as far as they are concerned. So if anyone can duplicate the problem they need to contact tech support with specific steps to duplicate it on their machines. Eric also stated that they have almost no customers using Vista that are reporting any issues to technical support and are concentrating on the Xp customers as that's where the bulk of their business is. They said no one reported the volume control issue to them until this week. He said no one has reported any of the windows mail issues either. So I don't know who is and who isn't using vista but if you are and you are having any of the problems that I noted then you all need to speak up and let support know about it. Because Eric said no one is calling in with any Vista issues that he knows of.
