It's a primary key. Not strictly necessary, usually desired. Primary key says
you can determine what's in a row by this value. It distinguishes it from other
rows in the table and may be one or several fields. It is table specific.

Subject: More access questions
Hey guys,
OK, just need a lite more help with this.
Creating fields is not a problem.
However, I did a control S to save the database, and it's telling me there
is no key defined.
I have no idea what this means.
Now, let's say I create the fields, how do I go about entering data?
When I tab through everything, it asks me for the field name, description,
ETC.
Now I have to figure out how to input data in to it.
Any ideas?
Sorry to be such a pain, just trying to learn the basics of access.
Thanks,
Jed
