I imagine that some of those tsns are just sitting there having not been removed either. One of the problems with mixing assistive technologies even magic and jaws is that there is a video issue with a lot of cards because of the way the two interact. Although this has improved and been enproved, there is still a lot to do. I hear that window eyes exibits none of these issues. Look at the dates on some of their TSNs relating to video cards. As I recall they have TSNs that are literally years old where they warn users about potential problems with both Nvidia and ATI video cards. These show that they have been aware of some video related problem for many years, which they haven't fixed, while they continue to issue statements that it's due to a certain model of card that many of us are using without a problem. That says to me that they know there's a problem, which they haven't fixed, and they've tried to dodge the issue by continuously causing people to switch to alternate video cards. Luckily for us, the end users, it's relatively cheap and easy to switch video cards until those that do have a problem find one that works with their particular system (at least, for desktop systems). =20 > -----Original Message----- > From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 > [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ptusing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 4:07 PM > To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: Re: Magic + JAWS crashing issue caused by ATI Radion=20 > video card. >=20 > They know all all about it and they are working to fix the issue. > I give them credit for taking the time to watch the issue develop. > I like their tech support and they did not dodge a thing. >=20 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "david poehlman" <david.poehlman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 3:45 PM > Subject: Re: Magic + JAWS crashing issue caused by ATI Radion=20 > video card. >=20 >=20 > > freedom should consider fixing the issue. > > > > Johnnie Apple Seed > > > > ----- Original Message -----=20 > > From: <ptusing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 3:13 PM > > Subject: Magic + JAWS crashing issue caused by ATI Radion=20 > video card. > > > > > > Hi, > > Freedom Scientific just verified that the crashes caused=20 > by JAWS and > MAGIC > > are related to my use of the ATI Radion video card. > > > > So if one wishes to use MAGIC and particularly MAGIC and=20 > JAWS together, > > consider not buyingthe Ati Radion video card. > > > > Otherwise, the 2 programs or MaGIC alone shouldw ork fine. > > > > I am sure some people will saythiswill not happen if =20 > onegets the OEM > > version of the ATi Radion cards, but this was just proven=20 > otherwise with F > S > > on the phone. > > > > -- > > To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to > > jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the=20 > subject line. > > Archives located at: //www.freelists.org/archives/jfw > > > > If you have any concerns about the list, post received from=20 > the list, or > the > > way the list is being run, do not post them to the list.=20 > Rather contact > the > > list owner at jfw-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > > -- > > To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to > jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the=20 > subject line. > > Archives located at: //www.freelists.org/archives/jfw > > > > If you have any concerns about the list, post received from=20 > the list, or > the way the list is being run, do not post them to the list.=20 > Rather contact > the list owner at jfw-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx >=20 > -- > To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to=20 > jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the=20 > subject line. > Archives located at: //www.freelists.org/archives/jfw >=20 > If you have any concerns about the list, post received from=20 > the list, or the way the list is being run, do not post them=20 > to the list.
