Or while focused on a folder name, you can press insert 9(page up) and jaws 
will repeat the folder name and the number of unread mesages.

it says when there is more than one unread message in the inbox, as in when
you go from one message to another, and say you do shift-tab and go to
another folder, before you tab into that folder it says however many
messages are unread before you tab.
