George,

Just doing my civic duty, and being a responsible lister. Roy's still a bit new
to our list, and he's apparently not very clear yet that this is not only a
JAWS-related list, but also not clear on how the subject line is important to
many of us in keeping our messages straight.

Oh, and I was remiss in not changing your subject, since your topic has
nothing at all to do with the keystroke to virtualize the window. You'll get
Douglas all worked up if you continue that practice.

In Jaws 9 and 10 the command is jaws key+control+w; in 11 and 12 it's
alt+jaws key+w.

Ah Rich but there is a way to be able to copy the infomation from the
dialog box. All you do is press your jaws key followed by the windows key and
the letter W. A bit of a move but it does work. It "verturalises the current
window" or in this case the about dialog box of your current jaws version. It
can really come in handy when you get an error message because all you do is
issue that command arrow up and down select what you want with the shift and
control and arrow keys or just do a plain select all with control A.

        Hope that's helped

        Thanks

        Daniel

        sorry.

it is correct. thank you for catching me. Really.

My current version of JAWS is 12 point zero point 525.

When I do an About JAWS it reads it pretty quickly and I try to
remember what it says.

I thought I would try and paste it but I could not get the cursor to
focus on the version number to paste it.

So there goes my gold star for today. Thanks for the information.

I guess I will wait until the update question box pops up to ask for my
permission.

        Rick,

You have version 12.0.525 -- Not 12.5.25. Check your "about" box again,
please.

I have been watching my JAWS 12 check for updates by way of the help
menu. and so for it has not come up.

I am using JAWS version 12.5.25 on my Windows 7 Home Premium machine.
It seems to work pretty well.

This version is what is listed on About JAWS.

          Perhaps the update happened automatically?

Or should I say, is this the most recent version?

          Thanks.

          Rik
