Do you have your keyboard setting in JAWS set to laptop. Even when using a desktop keyboard it can make things much easier. I use it all the time and I know FS do recommend people using it on desktop keyboards. Not quite sure why they don't make it the default in that case other than it would mean long term users having to get used to it. The laptop keyboard uses the caps lock as the JAWS insert key, but you can still use most of your existing keystrokes as well.

I was wondering if the Dragon speech recognition program could recognize 2, 3, or 4 keystroke commands as used in Jaws. Some of the keystroke combos constructed by the mad scientists at FS and Microsoft are awkward or make your hands have to leave good typing position, so I was wondering if speaking through a microphone and using Dragon or some other speech recognition program could be used for such multiple keystroke commands, or is it only the simplest of actions such as open, close, print, etc. Michael -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com
